About Brink.PH

Hi! Welcome to Brink! Somehow you have stumbled upon this little blog and found yourself wanting to know more about it. Read on to find out. :)

I always feel like I'm on the brink of something. Riding the wave of momentum, in the midst of a discovery, almost getting there but never quite reaching it. This is how I've been with my health and consequently, with my life in general.

One year a healthy eater and habitual exerciser, the next year a fastfood junkie and sedentary superstar. For a period time people were complimenting me on a svelte version of myself. Not long after, I was beating myself inside for having lost the discipline and the physique. I have reclaimed it once more while on year-long sabbatical, only to lose it a few months after coming home.

This vicious cycle has got to stop. Too many times I have let myself be hindered, too many times I have played the victim card so convincingly, I led myself to believe that everything bad happening to me is everyone's else's fault but mine. Yes, in my head I blamed my upbringing for my pre-disposal for my eating habits and inactivity. I blamed my overeating to all factors that have caused me stress. I have grown dependent on these external factors because it's easier to blame everything else but myself.

I am in hamster in my twenties, and I have decided to step out of the wheel.

In the midst of my cycles, I have read many articles and many books about motivation and living a healthy life, vibrant and disease-free.

But, guess what? I'm not exactly the poster girl for healthy living.

Action is what's missing in this equation. The information I know are useless if I don't use it. It's called paralysis by analysis. I have an addictive personality. And just as eating good food is addicting, so is collecting substantial information.

I have read up on almost every diet, fitness craze, healthy living icon. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I have read A LOT.

Thus the birth of this blog, to serve as venue where I can share the information I've collected and digested over the years. It's a place where I share my own journey towards optimal healthy living, because no man is an island after all. In the process, I hope to create a little community of people geared towards taking action. One of the most powerful ways to change the world is to change ourselves.

So let's begin.
